The Security Department
The Security Department throughout the Housing Authority of the City of Camden is an integral sustaining force in providing a secure atmosphere for our residents. We provide the following services:
Resident Volunteer Assistants (RVA)
Five to seven residents selected by the President of each high rise provide security services to the residents. It is the duty of the RVA to assist the Police and our Security Officers with the monitoring of the lobby and common areas. When guests arrive, they are required to show identification and sign their names along with answering other required information.
Abandoned Vehicle Program
With the cooperation of the Police Department a log is made of all inoperable vehicles that sit on HACC property of a long period of time. The vehicles are then towed away.
One Strike Program
Anyone that is apprehended with drugs on HACC premises, whether a resident or resident's visitor is evicted from the program.
