"CAMDEN HOUSING AUTHORITY HONOR'S ITS SENIOR CITIZENS WITH
ANNUAL SENIOR PROM"
The Housing Authority of the City of Camden (HACC) will host its
"Annual Senior Citizens Prom" Friday, August 23, 2002
at the Fraternal Order of Police (F.O.P) Club located at 1137 Federal
Street, Camden, NJ from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm.
The Housing Authority of the City of Camden honors and shows appreciation
for its Senior Citizen by continuing this six year tradition. Senior
citizens from our three high rises, (senior buildings) and senior
citizens from our family sites, will attend the event. Local politicians,
local organization representatives from the Camden City Police Department,
and New Jersey State Troopers are providing their services as escorts
for our seniors.
The senior citizens can look forward to participating in the annual
dance contest,
traditional crowning of the king and queen, and a dinner catered
by Aunt Berta's Kitchen of Haddon Township, NJ.
The color scheme for the occasion is lavender and white. The prom
will honor the memory of Roscoe Robinson, a former president of
the Resident Association of Westfield Towers. The Roscoe Robinson
award will be given out for the third year to a resident who best
exemplarises community spirit.
Dr. Maria Marquez, Executive Director, stated, "Some of our
senior residents have never had the opportunity to attend a prom
and we are delighted to provide a prom for them. We are very proud
of our senior citizens and look forward to providing many more positive
events for them."
