" PETER J. MCGUIRE GARDENS RIBBON-CUTTING CLOSING CEREMONY"
The Housing Authority of the City of Camden (HACC) is proud to announce
that it will have a closing ceremony at 11:00 am on August 12, 2002
to celebrate the completion of two hundred and fifty three new and
rehabilitated homes at the McGuire Gardens Development. This community
represents the largest new housing stock to come to the City of
Camden in decades. The funding for this endeavor was provided by
the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development through one
of its first ever awarded HOPE VI Grants in the amount of $42,117,000.
The ceremony will be attended by various dignitaries from the surrounding
area as well as HUD Washington D.C. In addition the residents of
the development will take part in the ceremony in order to showcase
their hard work and continued efforts to revitalize their once blighted
community. It is only through their dedication and hard work that
this beautiful new community is able to exist and give to the surrounding
neighborhoods.
